NBC Owned Stations Deliver About 10 Million Subs To COZI TV

RED HOOK — Cable Ad Net New York, dba WYBN TV-14, and NBCUniversal have reached an affiliation agreement whereby WYBN will begin carrying COZI TV on Oct. 5.

WYBN, the Catskill’s only locally owned and operated television station, serves the Albany-Schenectady-Troy market from 3200 feet atop Windham Mountain. The 15-kw station signed on the air in October 2011 as the first multi-format digital facility in New York’s Capital Region, offering eight subchannels of programming on channels 14.1 through 14.8.

On January 7, 2016, NBCOTS announced that it would launch an NBC O&O in Boston on January 1, 2017, replacing WHDH. It was originally rumored that NBC would air primary on a WNEU channel, however on November 1, it was announced that NBC will air on its current translator WBTS-LD (acquired from WNEU’s former operator ZGS Communications) with WNEU airing on its DT2 channel for the New Hampshire side of the DMA. From Wikipedia.

During the month of May 2015 Media General launched COZI TV in Grand Rapids, Albuquerque-Santa Fe, Austin, and Tampa-St. Petersburg.

The full power roll outs for COZI TV have been primarily by big groups. However, the low power roll outs are single launches by many of the smaller groups (like Dispatch Broadcast Group, LeSEA Broadcasting, Larry Morton, and others). But even within these low power launches are Media General, Meredith, and OTA Broadcasting).
